I work closely with & support the following organizations:
This amazing podcast is an invaluable resource for the North American permaculture community & beyond. Scott’s interviews are both entertaining & information-dense. He has interviewed many of the foremost permaculturists, including David Holmgren, one of the co-originators of the permaculture concept. Scott is also a personal friend of all of Susquehanna Permaculture, having taken his PDC with Ben and Dillon Cruz, the first PDC Ben ever offered.
This non-profit based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania provides cultural, artistic, & educational opportunities & programs to the African-American community in Harrisburg, & serves disenfranchised black youth. I’ve worked with Ngozi to offer PDCs in Harrisburg & to find funding for these youth to participate in permaculture trainings.
A huge network of permaculturists, farmers, environmentalists & more. They maintain a very useful list-serve.
This organization is bringing permaculture & sustainable ag to the suburbs of Philadelphia. Founder Tom McGlynn took an advanced PDC with Ben & Wilson Alvarez.
An excellent organization & education center in York County, only a few miles from the Susquehanna River. I have partnered with them to offer classes and other events.
I’ve worked with the Black Permaculture Network to offer scholarships to people of color who wish to attend a PDC.
Good friends of mine in south central Tennessee who do amazing work & offer excellent classes.
My friend Dale Hendricks maintains an amazing permaculture homestead in rural Chester County, PA, as well as an impressive stock of native & useful plants in his nursery. Dale took a PDC taught by Ben & Brandon Tennis.
This amazing organization partners with other non-profits to build & tend forest gardens all over the city of Philadelphia. I’ve partnered with them to offer classes & I’m very supportive of their work!
The longest-running & best-known permaculture publication in North America. Aa phenomenal resource that has published several articles written by Ben, who studied with Peter Bane, the long-time former publisher of this magazine.
An incredible business that maintains two inspiring permaculture sites in Vermont. Ben Falk has been highly supportive of Ben & Wilson’s development of the Rewilding Design System.
A very well-organized & productive organization that provides broad support for the permaculture movement in Northeastern North America. They host the semi-annual northeast permaculture convergence.
A permaculture resource for children founded by Jen Mendez. The primary mission of PERMIE KIDs is to nourish life. In partnership with children, families, communities & Mother Earth, they seek to bring justice, equity, & compassion into the world through educational design that honors the intrinsic dignity, worth & transformative potential of each and every person.
